The current Wise Disk Cleaner is version 11.4.0, released on 30 September 2026, according to WiseCleaner's release log. It is a free Windows tool made by WiseCleaner.com. The product page presents it as free and mentions no paid tier for this product, and the installer is 11.8 MB.
The product page lists junk-file cleanup, privacy trace removal (browser cache, history, cookies and Quick Access records), a Safe Deletion mode that overwrites deleted data, HDD defragmentation, SSD TRIM, scheduled AutoClean runs and a desktop widget.
Where the facts disagree: Windows support
| WiseCleaner page | Windows versions it lists |
|---|---|
| Product page | Windows 11 and Windows 10 |
| Download page | Windows 11, 10, 8/8.1 and 7, 32-bit and 64-bit; a portable version is also offered |
Scope: the two pages, read 23 Oct 2026. The download page lists wider support. Which statement matches a particular version of Windows is for the developer to confirm; a reader on Windows 7 or 8.1 may want to ask before installing.

Computed from the ten dates above: the gaps run from 24 to 47 days and average 34 days, which is about one release every four to five weeks. The newest gap, from 21 August to 30 September, was 40 days. On the check date of 23 October 2026 the latest release was 23 days old. The log has no 11.3.8.
The changelog for 11.3.2 shows what a typical release holds. It added new cleaning rules for programs including Neo Browser, Notion and OBS Studio. In a disk cleaner that works from rules, the rules are the content of the product, and a steady flow of releases is how it keeps pace with the programs it cleans.
What the installer does
The product page says the program follows a "strict zero-bloat policy". It does not say whether the installer includes other software, and the download page says nothing about installer behaviour or bundled offers for this product. The only offer mentioned on the download page is a separate upsell for Wise Care 365 Pro. Read each screen of the installer, as with any free tool.
Safe Deletion and what it implies
Safe Deletion is described as overwriting deleted data. Overwriting is a different action from moving a file to the Recycle Bin, and a file removed this way is not meant to be recoverable, so the setting is worth reading about before turning it on. The page also lists SSD TRIM and HDD defragmentation. Microsoft's performance article lists "Optimize drives" with Defragment and Optimize Drives as a built-in step, so those two features overlap with something Windows already provides.
What Windows already does
| Task | Built into Windows 10 and 11 |
|---|---|
| Delete temporary files | Storage Sense or Disk Cleanup |
| Optimize drives (defragment, TRIM) | Defragment and Optimize Drives |
| Clear browser history and cookies | Each browser's own settings |
| Run a clean on a schedule | Storage Sense, whose run frequency you choose |
Scope: Microsoft's performance and Storage Sense pages, read 23 Oct 2026.
Alternatives in this directory
CCleaner has free and paid editions, compared on its page. BleachBit is open source and free, with Windows 10 and 11 listed on its download page. Microsoft PC Manager is Microsoft's own free option, and Google Chrome is one of the browsers whose cache the cleaning rules cover.
Before you install: four checks
The developer's pages leave a few points open, and each can be settled in a minute.
- Your Windows version. The product page lists Windows 11 and 10, while the download page lists Windows 11, 10, 8 and 8.1, and 7. If you are on Windows 7 or 8.1, ask WiseCleaner which statement is current.
- The file you picked. The download page offers an installer and a portable archive. The portable file is named WDCFree_11.4.0.860.zip, which includes the build number 860.
- Installer screens. The pages promise a "zero-bloat policy" but say nothing about offers inside the installer, so read each screen.
- Safe Deletion. Leave the overwrite option off until you have read what it does, because a file removed that way is not meant to be recoverable.
The download page also carries a separate promotion for Wise Care 365 Pro. That is a different product, and Wise Disk Cleaner works without it.
What the release rhythm suggests
Ten releases in ten months, with the longest gap at 47 days, fits a tool that updates its list of cleaning rules often. The 11.3.2 note is an example: new rules for Neo Browser, Notion and OBS Studio, among others. A recent release date shows upkeep, though it says nothing about how well any single rule works.
