The latest NanaZip release on GitHub is NanaZip 7.0 version 2610.1 (7.0.1873.0), dated 22 October. The release notes say it syncs the 7-Zip mainline to 26.04, re-disables FileSystemWriteVirtualization to fix Safe Mode and file-redirection issues, and reworks the 7-Zip ZS integration. The GitHub list prints day and month without a year. On the check date of 24 October 2026 it was 2 days old, assuming 2026.
The assets for the latest release are NanaZip_7.0.1873.0.msixbundle, a matching .xml file, a Binaries zip and a DebugSymbols zip, with Preview equivalents.

Computed from the dates shown, assuming one year: 31 days from the 6 August releases to 2609.1 on 6 September, 11 days to 2609.2 on 17 September and 35 days to 2610.1 on 22 October, an average of 26 days.
The notes tie NanaZip to 7-Zip's own releases. NanaZip's 22 October release syncs to 7-Zip 26.04, while 7-Zip's history lists 26.05 on 21 October, so NanaZip was one 7-Zip version behind at the time of reading. That is a fact about the dates, and it does not say whether the changes in 26.05 matter to you. 7-Zip's 26.05 entry lists fixed bugs and vulnerabilities, so readers who want the very latest upstream code may prefer 7-Zip itself.
What the pages do not say
The release list gives no price or licence text. The project README, read separately, names the Windows minimum and the install routes (see the next section), but it links a licence file without naming the licence, so this page does not state one. The assets are an msixbundle package and plain binaries.
What Windows already does
Microsoft says Windows 11 24H2 opens ZIP, RAR, 7z and TAR on its own and lists 7-Zip compression and decompression as supported. NanaZip is a 7-Zip fork, so what it adds sits in packaging and interface: a context menu entry for Windows 10 and 11 File Explorer, dark mode and an MSIX package, according to its README. The File Compression page compares it with the other seven archivers.
How the version names work
The release names follow a pattern: 2609.1 on 6 September, 2609.2 on 17 September and 2610.1 on 22 October. That reads like a year-and-month stamp followed by a counter, which would also fit the "rolling release model" the 6 September notes announce. The pages do not explain the naming, so treat this as our reading and not the project's statement.
Before you install: a short check
- Use the project's GitHub releases page, since the official links point there, and check the asset names against the list above.
- Read the note on the rolling release model. Since 6 September the project releases continuously, so version numbers move often.
- If you need the newest 7-Zip fixes, compare NanaZip's synced 7-Zip number with the current 7-Zip release.
- Confirm Windows support in the README before installing, since the release list gives none.

Scope: github.com/M2Team/NanaZip README, read 24 Oct 2026.
The README fills the gap the release page leaves: Windows 10 2004 is the stated floor, which is newer than the Windows 7 and 8 that some other archivers here still list. It also says installing from packages extracted from the MSIX, for example with Scoop, is unsupported.
