Explzh's English page lists version 10.01, dated 18 January 2026 (Japan time), for 64-bit, ARM64 and 32-bit. On the check date of 24 October 2026 that was 279 days old, so it is one of the older releases on this site's list. The page states no Windows requirement and no price for Explzh itself. Its separate Archive decoder is described as "available free of charge to anyone." The author is pon software, with a copyright line starting in 1996.
The page offers builds named explz1001_en_x64.exe, explz1001_en_arm64.exe and explz1001_en.exe. It lists no file sizes.
Recent releases
| Version | Date (JST) | Days since the previous |
|---|---|---|
| 10.01 | 18 Jan 2026 | 28 |
| LHA/ZIP/CAB SFX modules | 26 Dec 2025 | Not a version |
| 10.00 | 21 Dec 2025 | 17 |
| 9.94 | 4 Dec 2025 | 8 |
| 9.93 | 26 Nov 2025 | Not computed |
Computed from the dates above: gaps of 8, 17 and 28 days between the four numbered releases, then no release for 279 days to the check date. The page prints dates as month, day and year. A long quiet period may only mean the program is stable, and the page does not say whether it is still maintained.
What the page says
The page describes an "Explorer-like GUI and usability" and shows a Windows 11 integrated menu, with screenshots that reference Windows 11, 10, 2008, 7 and Vista and an FTP connection screen. The SFX modules cover LHA, ZIP and CAB archives. The page's keywords list zip, 7z, tar and lzh, but the body does not confirm 7z and tar, so this page does not either. The licence of Explzh is not stated.
The page itself makes no performance claims, and we did not test the program.
What Windows already does
Microsoft says Windows 11 24H2 opens ZIP, RAR, 7z and TAR on its own. Explzh's English page prints no format list; its keywords mention zip, 7z, tar and lzh and its self-extractor modules name LHA, ZIP and CAB, so this directory cannot say which archives it adds. The File Compression page lists the other seven archivers.
What the release pattern shows
Four numbered releases appeared in 53 days from 26 November 2025 to 18 January 2026, and the page lists nothing newer in the 279 days to the check date. A program can fall quiet because it is finished or because it is no longer maintained, and the page does not say which. Readers who need current security fixes in an archiver should weigh that, since the tools with dated release notes in this category, such as Bandizip, list security fixes in each recent release.
Before you install: a short check
- Choose the build that fits your processor: x64, ARM64 or 32-bit.
- Check for a newer version. The page's latest entry is from January 2026.
- Do not assume formats beyond ZIP and LHA family. The body of the page names LHA, ZIP and CAB for the SFX modules only.
- Look for licence terms in the installer, since the page prints none for Explzh.

The antivirus note and the EV signing sit side by side on the page. Treat a false positive as a reason to check the download source and the signature, not as proof either way, and keep in mind that the page prints neither a price nor a licence for the program. The EV signing statement can be checked after download in the file properties of the installer, on the Digital Signatures tab, which shows the signer and the certificate dates. The page does not name the signer, so this directory cannot say what to expect there.
