Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information is collected when you use FreePcSofts, mainly by our hosting server and advertising partners, and what you can do about it.
1. Who we are
This website, freepcsofts.com, is operated by FreePcSofts. For anything about this policy or your data, email contact@freepcsofts.com.
2. What we collect
- Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting server records technical data when a page is requested: IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page, and the date and time.
- Emails you send us. If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message.
- Cookies from advertising partners. When ads are shown, Google and other ad vendors may set or read cookies and similar identifiers, as described in sections 5 and 6.
We have no user accounts, comment forms or newsletter, and we don't use Google Analytics or any other analytics service at the moment. The "find a program" box on the home page filters the list inside your browser; what you type is not sent to us.
3. How we use information
Server logs are used to keep the site running and secure, for example to spot abuse or fix errors. Emails are used only to answer you and, if you report an error, to fix the page. We do not sell personal information for money.
4. Cookies and how to control them
FreePcSofts itself does not need cookies to work. Advertising partners may use them. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site still works without them, though the ads you see may be less relevant.
5. Google AdSense and the DoubleClick cookie
This site uses, or may use, Google AdSense to show ads.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies, including the DoubleClick (DART) cookie, enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Users may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Ads Settings.
- You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices, or in the EU at www.youronlinechoices.eu.
- Google explains how it uses data from partner websites in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. Its full policy is the Google Privacy Policy.
6. Other ad vendors
Unless we turn it off in our AdSense account, Google may also allow certified third-party vendors and ad networks to serve ads on this site. Google publishes the list of these ad technology providers. You can opt out of their personalised ads on each vendor's own website or at aboutads.info.
7. Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland (GDPR)
This site does not show ads yet. Before personalised ads are shown to visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, a consent message from a Google-certified consent management platform, integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework, will ask for your choice. It will name the companies that may use your data and what they use it for. Once it is live, you can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the privacy settings link that the message provides.
Our legal bases are your consent, for advertising cookies and personalised ads, and our legitimate interest, for server logs used for security and keeping the site working.
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its use, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. You can also complain to the data protection authority in your country. To use any of these rights, email contact@freepcsofts.com.
8. US state privacy laws (CCPA/CPRA and others)
We don't sell personal information for money. Advertising cookies may still count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising under California law and similar state laws. The categories involved are online identifiers such as cookie IDs and IP addresses, and browsing activity on this site.
You have the right to know what we collect, to correct or delete it, to opt out of sale or sharing, to limit the use of sensitive information, and not to be treated differently for using these rights.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: email contact@freepcsofts.com with that subject line, or opt out of personalised ads at Ads Settings. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a valid opt-out of sale and sharing. For users in states where it applies, we use Google's restricted data processing once they opt out.
9. Children's privacy (COPPA)
FreePcSofts is not directed at children under 13 (the age line in the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, COPPA), or under 16 in the EEA, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you are a parent and believe your child has sent us information, email contact@freepcsofts.com and we will delete it.
10. How long we keep data
Emails are kept as long as needed to answer them and fix any reported issue, then deleted. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for its standard retention period.
11. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. No method of storing or sending data online is fully secure, but we keep the data we hold to the minimum described here.
12. Links to other sites
Download buttons and source links take you to developers' and publishers' websites. Their privacy practices are their own; read their policies before you download or sign up.
13. International transfers
Our hosting and advertising partners may process data in countries other than yours. Where GDPR applies, those transfers rely on the safeguards the partners provide, such as standard contractual clauses.
14. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new date.
15. Contact
